One World works to deliver Montessori education in developing countries. We are a registered non-profit organization in Sweden (802447-5835) and a Registered Charity in the UK (SC041180).
A great part of One World’s work is fundraising. We do this through personal contributions and by building sponsorship relationships with schools and institutions in Europe. You will find details of this on our how to help page.
Our classroom at A&A has ended for this year. We will be starting our next academic year mid- September, right after the month of Ramadan ends.
In spite of all the turning and tumbling in the Egyptian society, it has been a great year for most of us. A year full of warm and spiritual feelings, a year that made the Egyptians feel unity for the first time, and the cause is Freedom!!
For the first time Egyptians felt that Egypt belongs to them, and they have responsibilities towards their nation. Fathers, mothers and children went on the streets to support the Youth, by helping them clean the streets, organize traffic and support others by giving them information and help them in understanding of their rights and responsibilities towards their country. In my eyes it feels like Egypt is turning into a Big Montessori Classroom.
Our little Montessori classroom for this very short year (from the 21st of March till the end of June), has been a great success. Children were able to gain and uphold some of the basic standards in the classroom, most importantly they are able to move comfortably, having acquired an orderly sense for organized free movement within the class.
Although the children didn’t have a full year we are hoping that the experience they had during this short term will give them a strong initiative for next year, no matter how young they are or how little their experience is, I’m sure they have gained some understanding and self confidence.
We, the One World team would like to thank you all for your continuous support. We are looking forward to the next academic year and to learn more about these unexplored children. To observe, provide for, and experience the joy of children, while they unfold their mysteries. We hope you will stay with us.
